Love those 'Stros! They will always be champions in our hearts regardless of runs scored. However, it is tough to see A.J. Hinch express that his feelings are still "raw" days after game 7. This is one of those situations in which the saying "hindsight is 20/20" probably really holds true. We appreciate his vulnerability and transparency in sharing how he feels days after the World Series. It called to mind a reminder about the relationship between daring greatly and failure. That raw feeling is the product of daring greatly, making a plan, sticking to it, and leading a team to the ultimate heights of professional game play. Very few folks will ever get to feel that raw feeling because of fear, lack of commitment, and unwillingness to do the work. You see the raw feeling of major failure is reserved of those who courageously, dare greatly.
And though, the trick is to not allow that rawness to take over. For A.J., that might look like him choosing to stop reliving and rethinking about the night of October 30, 2019 because looking in the rear view mirror more than a few times does not serve him, his team, or his organization. Look in the rear view mirror should be limited to a few times... just enough to gain understanding and learn from what happened to move forward powerfully. Live in the present and live forward empowered by lessons from the past rather than weighed down by them. This is a choice that Coach Hinch has. This is a choice that we all have. Keep daring greatly!

We are kicking off a new Virtual PD Series called Vanguard Self-Leadership! We have received a tremendous amount of positive feedback and requests for more of the self-leadership (being in choice, commitment, listening, etc.) instruction that is offered on VanLearning Days. However, F2F time is VERY difficult to come these days so we are bringing it to you live online in the comfort of your own home or wherever you are at 7:30 pm. Each series is themed with a specific focus and will consist of 4- 30 minute online sessions. We ask that you commit to attending all 4. More details on commitment will come via email along with the links to the video sessions:) The details for the first series are below:
SHIFT Series
Session 1/4 - Wednesday, November 13 at 7:30-8 pm
Lesson 2/4 - Wednesday, November 20 at 7:30 -8 pm

VanLearning Days
We are changing the way we VanLearn together! We are perpetually in the business of honoring your choice action of joining the Vanguard Fellowship and making sure that your membership does not become "one more thing" on an already overflowing plate! So, we are reducing the number of annual f2f VanLearning Days to 2 - 1 each semester. The other 2 VanLearning Days are going to be traded for a series of virtual community circles conducted via Zoom.

Vanguard Virtual Community Circles
Time and distance of the 2 biggest barriers to the work of the Vanguard Fellowship! To overcome these barriers we are now hosting 30 minute share and listen conversations conducted via video chat. There will be 2 sessions hosted on each of the days listed below to accommodate schedules. To protect the virtual room space, the links and session passwords will be sent via email. You can attend one or both... it is up to you. The benefit of attending both is that you may be able to connect with different people each time. We are very excited about his new offering! We hope you find it convenient and meaningful to your learning journey as a Vanguard Fellow.
